The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash Page 2

I still call my Mate Barry "Barrington Womble" from time to time

By the way, the sequel is available to watch on YouTube. I've only seen bits of it myself. I've heard it's quite poor.

Don't recall ever hearing about a sequel.

I did hear about it, but I must have read a few reviews & thought better of it.
I may give it a look on YouTube

I menioned elsewhere that I recently discovered the Archaeology album which I never knew existed.

I seem to remember they originated on Rutland Weekend Television and I've got the album and book of that somewhere.

Should you ever have the time to spare, this old, anonymously penned piece by Martin Lewis savages Eric Idle's treatment of Neil Innes: http://web.archive.org/web/20010531153921/http://home.earthlink.net/~wyuen/rutlesstory.htm Much insight into the Rutles, mainly their second album, and Idle's sabotaging thereof.

A bit too much to read in detail at the moment but interesting. Of course Idle also seemed to be the rights owner of Spamalot. He's obviously a very shrewd businessman.

I have owned the DVD for years, and re-visit it still. Great cast and writing.
"Their first LP was made in 30 minutes, the second took even longer." Brilliant!

The Rutles are playing the Half Moon Putney on Monday 10th October.

Shame, but no surprise, that Innes wasn't in the 2014 Python reunion.

He was never really a Python. He was though a member of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band.

He is a sort of 'friend of Python'. Like a cousin.
