What is???

The accountant fellow in James' avatar. It's his latest alter-ego.

Ah fair play. Haven't seen that one yet.

Does anyone have examples of any British TV shows that have been successfully sued for plagiarism? Not neccessarily sitcoms, even an individual sketch or just a one-liner. May give an indication of how "clear and present a danger" this is.

Chortle regularly features plagiarism stories, usually referring to gags or stand up routines. Some recent examples:

My Name Is Earl, writer claims sitcom was stolen from his idea

Jim Tavare accuses Sid Bowfin of nicking his act, look and website

Micky Flanagan accused of doing a gag that another act had already been accused of plagiarising

Australia's Got Talent finalist nicks Lee Mack routine

Father Ted show - tribute or rip-off?

Joke theft rife among comics

Yeah, there are loads of stories about allegations - was wondering if anyone had a case of a proven claim?

I had a show on Doctors and the almost exact same storyline came up on Holby.

Was it about someone needing a doctor for an ailment?

Actually no... lol :)

Hee.
Sue them!

Lol. I don't think I'd have much of a case.

Boo. Just glare at them from afar then. I shall join in.
