Yeah. To me, all Oasis music sounds rather similar to that of a 60s combo. I can't put my finger on which one though.

The funniest thing is they were done for plagiarising Neil Innes of Rutles fame.

Seriously? That's hilarious.

Oh yeah, I'd never noticed that before.

I had noticed them nicking the theme tune from You and Me (or was it Me and You?) for She's Electric.

Bloody hell. If you can get done for plagiarism just for that then 'The Enemy' ought to be shitting themselves.

They say genius steals. But Oasis prove that arseholes steal, too.

It was roundly rejected by all and even Victoria Wood said it was too rude.

Victoria Wood read your script - and replied! That's highly impressive in itself. You've actually achieved more than most on here already.

So turn that frown upside down, buddy!

not comedy but didn't Dan Brown get accused of stealing a large portion of the Da Vinci Code? Also that Doctor fella from This Morning was suspended for stealing someone elses work for a study he was conducting. It happens but I agree with others wait and see and I agree with Don Rushmore the fact she read it and replied is a huge feather in your cap

Who knows, maybe the OP's script did prompt them to write something similar, but less rude, but they'd be pretty stupid not to change it enough to make sure they couldn't be sued.

What was the timescale for all this?

I read it online. Laughing out loud

Who told you it was worthwhile?

I read it online! Actually, I've heard it from several sources about various fields. How recent was this court case? Sounds like that advice might not hold true any more, if that's true.

The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail.

In which case, Ringo Starr could sue Franz Ferdinand. The hook starting at 1.04 in Franz Ferdinand's Take Me Out sounds much like the chorus of Ringo's Back Off Boogaloo. And someone has posted this possible/coincidental plagiarism on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhIHosGqE_A

Priceless - I never knew that. What a genius example of irony!!

Remember that bit in the Rutles film, when people were robbing the Apple office blind - wwhile George Harrison was standing there, quite oblivious? If they re-made it, they could have the Gallaghers making off with stuff. Beady Eye....I guess the first three letters of that name must be pure coincidence.

The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail.

But that was all true - it is not like it is shit they made up or anything. You can't plagiarise history!

Have Oasis ever done a song which has no plagiarism in?
