There are many, many kooks in the world and the Internet makes it easy for them to gather.

Jesse Ventura is an actor working for a television show that makes money off of "investigating" crap like this. He also spent most of his life fake-fighting in a wrestling ring while wearing spandex tights. He is not a credible scientist nor expert in this matter.

It's funny you should say that, because when it comes to "fake fighting", or fighting for a made up reason, Ventura is actually quite experienced, having fought in Vietnam, after the supposed Gulf of Tonkin incident, which has since been proven to have been a hoax: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxwowjfhQvg&feature=related

Which reminds me of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FmmsUStZhvs&NR=1

Nothing is as it seems. Reality is just a construct of The New World Order. The government is controlling your thoughts. Escape the Matrix! Take the red pill! (Or at least take some sort of pill.)

It's funny, I keep telling you that I'm simply watching these clips, but you keep leaving comments about me being mad. Are you saying it's wrong to watch these clips?

There is a distinct pattern, personality type and defence mechanism common to these conspiracy theories and the people who espouse them. One typical trait is to ask "Why does it bother you if I'm interested in these things? I'm only trying to learn the truth." Before you know it they'll call you a "sheep who believes everything he's told."

Another classic symptom is refusing to believe any expert criticism or attempting to weave it into the story line.

What else are you to do with someone who insists that simple jet contrails are actually some sort of government poison or mind control device other than hint that they may be missing a few marbles?

Please note that I'm not a doctor and have no idea of your mental health but you seem to have a strong interest in these people and their theories and they are, for the most part, mad.

I get a laugh out of chemtrails and WTC7 and earthquake weapons, so it's fine as long as you do, too. It's also OK to question what you read but please think about spending an equal amount of time perusing debunking sites and maybe even speaking personally to scientists and doctors and engineers before you make up your mind.

Evoloution's a bust I saw a YouTube video with a purple dinosaur....singing with homosapien kids!

Take that origin of the species!

I remember seeing a stone/rock very similar to Leevils when I used to do a bit of Birdwatching. I was off my Tits at the time so ended up training my binoculars on distant rocks & pebbles.

As I said, I came across all of this stuff when doing reasearch for my sitcom.

Oh, and what are you meant to think when many of the people making these claims ARE scientists, doctors and engineers?

Doctors and engineers can be kooks and madmen, too. But I think you'll see that their numbers are small compared to the armchair Internet experts who relentlessly regurgitate this crap.

True, but Doctors and Engineers can also be paid or forced to give false information.

As for theories that make me laugh, the best has to be the one about Jim Henson being killed by the Illuminati. Some people think he upset them with his shows/films, which they claim were giving clues about occult info, e.g. Fraggle Rock was apparently alluding to the "Hollow Earth" theory being true, The Dark Crystal was meant to be all about the Reptilians that David Icke is so fond of talking about, and The Labyrinth was meant to be based on Pan's Labyrinth, which has all sorts of significance to Illuminati Satanists.

A disagreement on an internet forum?! Now there's something you don't see everyday.

Dabutt, as much as I agree with you. You may appear to be coming across a little too dismissive of catskillz opinions. Which is fair enough but I don't think your tone is relevent to the fact that he just finds this stuff interesting.

Ugh, once a mod, always a mod.

Why aren't you a mod anymore?

Oh I still am but I changed my email and it reset my membership level. I just keep forgetting to tell Aaron.

Now this is interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFXQKZJB8YY

I'm with Catskillz on this one.
I've had a lot of fun reading some of those websites.
I remember getting into the Moon Landing conspiracies big time.
A lot of arguments can be quite persuasive, that's what spin or PR is all about I suppose.
There are so many things that we know nothing about, and it's always nice to keep an open mind.
