I'm not sure if it applies to Scrabble but online Poker makes you a better player, well a faster player if anything.
I think it definitely makes you a better player.
I thought it was a fun game until I started playing on Facebook.
Only trouble is you don't get penalised if a word doesn't exist, so often people will just keep trying out words until they find one that works, so it can end up being ever so tactical & not as much fun as one would hope.

On the contrary a Facebook Scrabble game can take days between turns and weeks to complete.
