British Comedy Guide

Your top 12 favourite UK sitcoms

What are your top 12 favourite/best UK sitcoms of all time? DON'T have to be in order of best-est-ness. You can start with some and finish the rest later.

Here is my 12, roughly in alphabetical order:

-Are You Being Served?
-Dad's Army
-Ever Decreasing Circles
-Fawlty Towers
-Hi-De-Hi
-One Foot In The Grave
-Only Fools And Horses
-Robin's Nest
-The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole
-The Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perin
-The Worst Week Of My Life
-You Rang, M'Lord?

(I'm not sure if 'best' and 'favourite' are the same thing. As some sitcoms probably have higher production values and better acting and are more clever or sophisticated but might not be as funny or cheer you up as much. Hmmm.)

Top 12 UK sitcoms for me would be (in alphabetical order):

* Blackadder
* Bleak Expectations
* Dad's Army
* Green Wing
* The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
* Mongrels
* The New Stateman
* Outnumbered
* Porridge

* Yes Minister/Yes, Prime Minister

12? Don't we already have top 10, top 5 and top 30?

We did those others when you were a young man, bigfella. Now you're officially middle-aged we want to see if your tastes have changed.

Did yours change when you hit my age?
