From the premise I can't say I'm filled with confidence. Just hope it's better than Life Of Riley, not that will be much of an achievement.

I concur.

I'm hoping it'll be good, but I've heard mixed reports of the show so not sure what exactly to expect. Fingers crossed.

I guess that In With The Flynns is based on a US sitcom Grounded For Life that I used to watch a while ago, and it was okay in its own right, but I'm excited to see what Flynns has in store. hopefully it will be better Grounded. :)

Looks awful!

Canned laughter?

No. Live audience.

I could be wrong, but I don't think canned laughter has been used on any shows for years.

Correct.

They use it in those crappy American style 'Animals do the funniest things' voiceover clip shows. And that's about it. They do not use them on sitcoms.

Enhanced laughter, then. Does not sound like real laughing.

Nope, it's just real people laughing in a studio audience.

Depending on the show, some amount of tweaking to the laughter can take place. However, I know from talking to writers that some of the shows criticised for having fake sounding laughter, are the ones that have had less or no tweaking done to them.

If someone messes up a scene, I think the production team will edit the laugh from the original take if the second take doesn't get as good a reaction. But, nearly every sitcom with a laughter track is filmed in front of a live audience now.

I haven't read anything about this but from the excerpt it just looks like My Family.

Yeah, that's my view on it.

I've got this on (don't know why) and it's largely unfunny. I can't recall laughing once yet. The characters are very clichéd and the show is like a cross between 'Life of Riley' and 'After You've Gone'. Utterly terrible.
