How Not To Live Your Life axed

Nice one BBC...

:(

I'm not surprised about the other two being axed, but this one does surprise me, especially as I'd heard already about the Christmas Special.

Odd.

Yes, some disappointing changes at BBC Three - but that's what you get with a new channel controller. Par for the course.

Bon Jovi, I didn't see that one coming.

Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeet :S

Hopefully some of the replacements will prove worthwhile. Sharon Horgan's one I have high hopes for, and James Cary has been involved in good stuff, so hopefully that might end up being decent too.

Amusing to note Chortle's copy-and-paste approach to news reporting: they failed to acknowledge Broadcast's error that HNTLYL has only had 3 series, not 4. I laugh at them both.

Spooky, I've just been watching series 2 on DVD today. Pity, it was the only 'current' comedy I rated. Oh well, Dan Clark obviously knew something we didn't; he said on Wiki that they were probably only going to do one more special to round off the story.

Was just getting into this then they end it. It didn't seem right to end it there really, it being a slow burner sort of sitcom and that. It needed another series to realise its full potential or not. It wasn't a breathtaking thing in terms of laughs but it certainly wasn't a failure and it was more than mildly amusing and was pleasant viewing.

I wonder if he'll want to reconsider that offer from US TV now, which, rather oddly, he turned down, I think. Er, was that wise? And will they want an abandoned sitcom now?

Oh I thought it had only had two series, not four. Only saw the two, most eps. I suppose four series is quite good going then. Bit surprised that it never made it out of BBC3 onto 2, seeing as lots of good things were said about the show.

I was expecting this show to explode into the mainstream and become the next big comedy. It's accessible, and most importantly really funny with some memorable characters.

The BBC just didn't expose it enough. Shame on them.

This is a shame, cos I liked it a lot. Series 2 was awesome, in my opinion; it really hit heights I didn't expect in that series.

He yesterday announced a raft of new comedy commissions, but has had to clear others out to make room in the schedules.

What?! How about just not showing the same three shows 34 times a week?

James Cary is probably the most passionate man about comedy I have ever met. He's what we should all aspire to, and I hope IED is his big TV break, as he deserves it thoroughly.

Dan

Lunch Monkeys did improve with the last couple of episodes, but it was too little too late.

Oh well, at least it turned decent at the end!

This is a shame. I liked the narration style of this, it really worked and Dan Clark can be pretty funny. Has anybody ever seen The Estate Agents that he co-wrote? It was on C4 in the early 2000s. Bizarre but had some great moments.
