What's the point?

I have been instructed by Leevil - at the writer's request - no longer to critique Charley's work.

Can I ask if anyone thinks this sort of censorship is a good idea? Should a writer choose only to receive positive criticism?

What does this sort of edict mean for the development of writers?

I am genuinely interested in your views.

Best Wishes

I'm also interested.

Charley was clearly not happy with the debating going on in her thread, I did the best I could by asking politely for you to not post in her critiques anymore.

I'm not Big Brother, just trying to stop the pointless arguing.

OK Alan - we know what you think of her work so basically anything you say is not really going to be any different - so what is the point of YOU doing it all the time.

You're not really being constructive towards her and although writers should I suppose have a good vocabulary there are words you sometimes use that I've got no idea what they mean.

What's the point????

Thanks for the reply.

The point, Alan, is that whilst no one is for a moment suggesting that you should praise Charley's - or anyone else's - work if you think it's shit, the manner in which you do so is evidently being found to be completely unhelpful, provocative, and apparently repetitive too.

It is honest and - if it's repetitive - that's only because the same flaws appear each time.

Alan You sent me a PM stating you no longer wanted to post on my work. Leevil let him carry on. He is doing nothing to make any kind of difference to me. Let him post away.

Fine by me Charley, he hasn't commented on my work yet and only critiquing on what he doesn't like, so I think he's knows good work when he sees it, :P

I think if any critique that turns into an argument about critiquing, shall be directed onto this thread in future.

Or not!
