Foxtrot Oscar old bean.

Your responses seem to be focussing less on wit of late.

:O

I am sorry you don't know an extremely famous Oscar Wilde joke and could not understand it contextually in my post LL.

No I didn't. It's only famous if you have heard of it, like Teddy Padallack.

I need to start a thread about stand up, because I'm guessing it's not ALL about the joke.

Never was really but certainly not so much nowadays.

I disagree the first version adds personality to the mix, rather than a joke anyone can tell. Plus it has a better rhythm I think. 3 is better than 2 usually in structuring things.

I second this. It was the 'yet delightful' which added a bit of whimsey into the whole thing rather than it just being 'Eammon Holmes is Irish and fat.'

Surely no-one would be delighted to see Eamon Holmes brought out though.

All the members of the firing squad?

I understand he is a very popular man.

With all the members of a myopic firing squad?
