Best sitcom

Not Going Out.

Another vote for Not Going Out, and The Inbetweeners - particularly Series 1.

How recent is recent?

Maybe not recent - but I vote for 'The Smoking Room'.

Fawlty Towers. Anybody seen that yet? Hilarious! That long bloke out of Monty Python plays a...

The Middle
Outnumbered

Both of those as my kids first started watching them and I realised they were spot on AND funny.

Missed Peep Show when it was out but will put that as I enjoyed the bits I have seen and may get a DVD out to have a proper look, if there is one.

The League of Gentlemen, but again I've only seen bits of this.

I'm struggling to name any really recent ones as there don't seem to be many..or have I missed them all? Shame really

If I'm talking recent I'm assuming we're going the last five years or so... so here goes...

"The Thick of It"
"Getting On"
"Miranda"
"Jam and Jerusalem"
"The Life and Times of vivienne Vyle"

Everyone might not agree, but those are favourites of mine. I haven't seen "Peep Show" or "Pulling" but they sound interesting.

:)

Probably enjoyed Twenty Twelve more than any other sitcom in the last couple of years.

Very best at the moment: Peep Show.

Then; Not Going Out, Thick of It, Inbetweeners, IT Crowd.

Miranda, of course!

Mrs. Brown's Boys, Miranda, Not Going Out. White Van Man and Lead Balloon. And (cough) Coming of Age (ducks).

And just to show we aren't all hate-filled obsessives, let's celebrate the best sitcoms of recent times.

I'll start with

Peep Show
The Thick Of It
The Inbetweeners

Seems a fair list. And thank God you started this, Griff, because I was getting worried about the chronic shortage of "Best/Greatest/Funniest Sitcom" threads on the BCG.

Yeah, Griff's right again *yawn*

But don't forget ... ahem ... Mongrels [ducks swiftly behind panel]

Not Going Out
Miranda
Beautiful People
The Inbetweeners
Peep Show

Freezing. <3

Should have started a "Is there anyone famous on the BCG" thread while I was at it.

How novel. Don't think I've seen one of those on the BCG before.
