York Comedy Writers

Hello good people.

After an enjoyable meeting a few weeks ago with another local writer, I have decided to try and arrange regular (probably fortnightly) meetings for anyone who writes comedy and is based in the York area. They will just be informal meetings that you can attend to discuss comedy writing and to bring along pieces of work that you would like feedback on. We probably won't have time to read through full length sitcom scripts, but you could bring along sketches or scenes from a longer script.

The next meeting will take place on Sunday 8th May at 11:15am at the City Screen Cafe. There will be at least two of us but we are hoping for more.

Easy to remember: 11:15 @ the City Screen.

I'll be going along to this tomorrow. Anyone else?

Our next meeting will be next Sunday (29th May) 14:30 this time.
Three attendees confirmed so far. We're going to meet in the foyer at the City Screen. If there is a table free in the cafe we will go there, otherwise we will try somewhere else.

It all sounds so innocent, but this is just how the National Socialist party in Germany started off. Sure, right now you're happy to look elsewhere if there isn't a table free, but soon you'll be strapping on the jackboots and demanding lebensraum.

:D

We will be having our next meeting this coming Sunday (17th July). Meeting at 11am outside the York City Screen Cinema. We will probably move on to Cafe Nero as we enjoyed it there last time. No need for fascist footwear.

If you plan on comming but haven't been before, it might be worth emailing me at eyeofthepenguin@gmail.com so we know who to expect.
