HOOO YEAH!
Quote: Tuumble @ July 17 2011, 10:03 PM BSTA good 15 minutes ago I said to my Jo that I could see Tom and Helen being part of an Apprentice dream team. The way Helen was quietly 'fired', makes me think that it might still be possible - stay tuned...
Well, it wasn't Helen but they did say that 'a deal was to be done' with Susan re cosmetics so we weren't completely wrong.
Is Sugar really going to bankroll an back ache consultancy firm? There was something a bit fudged about the end of this series.
Struck me that he's already distanced himself from the chair and wants to get working on the nail file especially with the Susie involvement claim.
Makes you wonder if the new concept for this series wasn't completely thought through. You'd expect the final four to come up with something investable but all the ideas were fundamentally flawed - even if you had £250k did any of you have any confidence in them?
You can't expect anyone to put up that kind of money if he doesn't believe in the idea even if that person wins the competition. There's more to Tom than that one idea though but I do wonder if Sugar is nervous of what appears to be a nice but bumbling boffin - they are the most unlikely of partners.
Well, I've sat through 3 months of shows and if the winning contestant pitched a back ache business then that's the one they should go with. Otherwise it feels a tad dishonest. Although I agree the show did feel poorly thought out this year.
No, I think they are doing Nail Files.
The format for this series was fundamentally flawed in my opinion, it was like the proceeding weeks had no real relation to the final.
The tasks were generally similar to the previous series when Lord Sugar was looking for an employee, when they should really have been designed to show people's entrepreneurial skills.
Helen, was a great candidate for a normal Apprentice series and pretty much breezed through the tasks but she was always destined to fall at the final hurdle because she was in the wrong series.
Tony, have you got your finger stuck in the keyboard again?
I did feel there weren't enough real entrepreneurs on the show, totally agree. Why select the same sort of sales fodder they usually do when there are loads of entrepreneur types out there. All they had to do was scour through the Dragon's Den archives if they were short of people. Thought the selection of candidate types was very poor.

No idea what happened there, the board was saying it was down and I didn't think my post had even gone up.
On another note does anyone else think that there's something slightly creepy about the winner Tom? From his fake "hur hur hur" laugh to his mugging on the winners show and his fake glasses there's just something very false about him that I can't quite put my finger on.
Also for such an ideas man and, supposedly, a geek, he got all his figures wrong on his business plan, thought Columbus was British and that Sir Francis Drake's first name was William, the bloke is just as much of an idiot as the rest of them, I think the only reason anyone seems to think he's intelligent is because of his glasses.
Quote: zooo @ July 17 2011, 10:07 PM BSTI liked it too when Jim affectionately called him sugar. The best part of the whole series.
Really? Not:
SUGAR:
What did you do Leon?
LEON:
I drew a teapot with a light in it.
???
Dan
Okay, top two.
I thought Dia..I thought the host was the funniest I've ever seen him last night. He was in great form. 'We're one man down in the teapot drawing division.' Him and MM we're great together, I thought. Even the usually straight faced Lord sugar was laughing. That was a good show.
