British black/dark comedy suggestions?

Hi everyone.

I searched on the forum, but I don't think this has been covered yet. I'm trying to discover new black/dark comedies and I wondered if you might be able to suggest any to try? I can't seem to find any website where I can browse the genre/style, and find a list of the shows which fall into black/dark comedy.

So far my favourites include:
Nighty Night
Jam
The Day Today / Brass Eye
Monkey Dust
Human Remains
GMs Darkplace
Psychoville
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Does "The Ladykillers" count?

Of the ones you've mentioned I've only seen Psychoville, but I seem to recall Nightingales was pretty dark in places, and certainly worth watching. I mean the comedy in Bottom could be described as dark perhaps, but I assume you're familiar with that one!

I'd venture that 15 Storeys High falls near to this category of comedy. Certainly it does in places. On the non-sitcom side, try the wonderful Human Remains, with Julia Davis and Rob Brydon (before he moved into light entertainment).

EDIT: Ah, re-reading, I see Human Remains is already on your list...

Erm...

Roger and Val Have Just Got In or Marion and Geoff? Certainly both have dark moments.

Getting On?

The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret had its moments.

The Derek and Clive tapes is seen by some as just puerile but I find them utterly grim, particularly Cook descending into what sounds like drunken depression and destroying what little goodwill is left in his relationship with Dud.

Garth Merengiue comedy tart?

"How Do You Want Me?"

Good cast, too, including Dylan Moran, Mark Heap, and Peter Serafinowicz.

Oh, and of course, Frank Finlay.

Desmonds is a fairly black British comedy.

Asylum.

You'll have to copy/paste - the BB code doesn't like the brackets.

Was Fun At The Funeral Parlour somewhat on the dark side?
