Literary Understatements

I read last night, in Bram Stoker's Dracula:

Jonathan Harker's journal (just as he was setting out to do a bit of vampire slaughtering)..."We were prepared for some unpleasantness"

!!!

Huh?

Gandalf turned to Frodo & said "All you have to do is throw a Ring in a volcano, shouldn't take too long"

Lenny really likes the rabbits.

I'm not crazy!' catch 22.

:( 'I'll just have a relaxing shower' ' PHSYCHO'

Citizen Kane.

"Rosebud...."

You're a millionaire FFS buy another sledge, get over it!"

:( 'Jaws' 'mummy I'm going for a swim, water's great!'

I think only a couple of these have strictly been understatements...
