Ticket inspectors make up a huge part of my fan base - they adore me and are always offering to let me travel for free. But I always turn them down - my talent is beyond comp. fares.
£15 for Funny Women Page 3
Is this getting off topic?
I was at a comedy-cum-music venue the other night when they had nobody to introduce the dyslexic U2 tribute band. Nothing comperes 2U.
In other news, I also have a superb tenor singing voice. I'm maybe not quite in the Pavarotti league, but my talent is certainly beyond 'Go Compare'...
Sheila's wheels?
No, Compere the Meerkat.
Has everyone given up hazelnut-based chocolate bars for Lent? We all seem to be off topic.

I'm slapping a pre-emptive 'Property of Tony Cowards' label on this one.
Tim I was going to offer you a photo of Thatchers and Widdecombes but your beyond con pairs
Sooty is currently watching, in chronological order, every Hollywood airplane action movie that has ever been made - he's reached 1998 and is now beyond Con Air.
(I hope all this is giving potential "Funny Women" some encouragement - you can't be any worse than this shit.)
I'm about to post a photo of David Hasslehof's bowel movement
This thread is after all Hoff Plop Pic
I don't think comps like this should charge. Where does that lead?
Maybe it's not such a bad thing, there'd be no point paying to get involved if you're shit...
It's not worth applying for free companif you're shit. Which is one of the reasons I haven't applied for any yet. I lie of course. I'm amazing. (May not be true).
This is getting a lot of interest from circuit peeps. Tonnes of blog posts cropping up about it, especially since they posted ontheir website slagging off everyone who has criticised them as bitchy, whiny girls. So bizarre.
I wouldn't pay to play.
But I've done a fair few short courses where you pay a bit, do some rehersals and exercise and then play a gig.
Lots of fun and good practise.

'Companif'?
I still haven't looked into this, is it a good opportunity apart from having to pay?
Did you mean it's not worth doing a free comp if you're shit? I'm sure it wouldn't stop some people!
Sorry I'm on my phone, and do type some crazy shiz on this thing. Yes that is what I meant though. FW is a strange one; they've lost a lot of followers in recent years for political reasons. There are countless reports of acts being censored from swearing, talking about their sexuality, being told that they wouldn't be let through to the next round if they didn't wear a dress etc etc. They make a lot of enemies for an organisation who are supposed to be positive and supportive.
Plus the prize isn't as good as it might appear. A lot of those things they are getting for free and many people are more than capable of doing themselves. Really the thing of value would have been the winner title, but seeing as many many pro acts and promoters are turning their back on the comp, it's becoming fairly devalued.
Plus pay to play is genuinely just wrong. I could go into a lot more details as to why the way they are structuring the heats is actually detrimental to both female acts and the circuit as a whole, but I'm getting hand cramp! You should have a look at the FB page- that has tonnes of info!
To be fair, you'd have more chance of winning this year as there will be dramatically less entries, but also for that reason promoters will give even less value to the title.
