Political speech

Can anyone identify a live, stand up type, performance of someone giving a speech as Prime Minister?

Includes lines like 'Running the country the way I have take a nerve' , 'But I'm still here', 'The factories of Britain are humming with the sound of the Official Receiver going about his business'.

I can probably find more if these don't help.

Ta.

When, more-or-less, was it from?

It sounds like an imitation of John Major's voice . . a bit.

Peter Cook's impersonation of Prime Minister Harold MacMillan is one of the most notable and famous sketches from 'Beyond The Fringe'. Can't find the actual clip but this is quite a example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3FCpnIVfdI

Thanks for the link but it's not that. It sounds 'more modern'.

Sounds like "oh yes Major" to me as well. Spitting Image or Rory Bremner?
Actually the more I think about it, probably Bremner.

There is an audience btw so that probably rules out Spitting Image.
