Hi There,
I'm Mark and I'm a professional documentary photographer. I love comedy and humour and think that the UK has some of the best comedians in the world. With that said I'm wanting to start a new project based around the working life of a stand up comedian. I keep hearing that the late nights, long drives and gig after gig all adds to the difficult start of becoming a professional comedian.
I write to ask if there is anyone out there willing to let me tag along with them from gig to gig, club to club? I'm interested in documenting yourself on stage, the locations that you perform at and the people that attend. All in all it would hope to cover each gig with a great collection of images.
The hope and aim would be to put the project into a book production and offer it as a coffee table style funky cool book. I can't pay anyone for this as it is a personal project but I am willing to offer those that help with some free photographs of their gigs and a free book at the end. :-)
Let me know what you think or if you even think it is a good/bad idea?
I thought it might be nice to do this project and offer an insight to those that are thinking about standup/comedy as a career choice etc...
All the best, Mark
