Was going to send off my short comedy film. Where did you find the list of prod. companies?
Quote: socknose @ July 22, 2007, 9:04 PMAnd does the front cover of the script count as one of the ten pages?
Cheers
Nope. And if it did then people are very weird, wrong and need a slap.
One last question because I am very retarded and need every single last thing to be clarified for me. Should the email header be the name of the show? Or some generic 'Script submission'?
If it's a really eye-catching title then yes I would think. (tried to think of something clever and funny but can't think at the moment)
I'd put the title and 'script submission' or whatever. I'd be paranoid about them thinking it was spam otherwise.
what if your show is called 'spam'?
Or worse, "please her tonigt - cheap Viagra', as mine is.

heh heh
ONE last question.
With the treatment, is this the level of detail they expect:
"An out of work actor accidentally saves a man's life who, as a reward, inducts him into a shadowy terrorist network. That of The Irritation Terrorist. A cell that believes the New World Order is real, that those in charge are indeed Lizards and that at any moment a vicious dictatorship will spring up. Their way of fighting back is simply to irritate people. Annoyed general public looks for someone to blame, and it's usually the government.
Of course none of these things are real and they're all just losers and social outcasts getting back at those who have ostracised them in a petty yet pretentious way. The four of them (Brian, Rod, Jen and Terry) are all just trying to find a place for themselves in a world that they are at odds with."
Ie; a run down of the premise.
Or is this what they want

The first episode opens with Brian at the job center trying to convince the clerk that practising his range of expression in front of the mirror is as good as looking for work. She doesn’t buy it and refuses him his job seekers allowance. As Brian goes to leave, he passes Rod and Jen who are doing their very best to annoy the others in the line. Rod is wearing a very big turban and trying to pass himself off as an asylum seeker blatently exploiting the system and Jen is sat behind a desk playing a very guillable clerk. Torrents of abuse are thrown at Rod as he limps outside.
Outside, Rod limps along the street for a few moments before his limp disappears.
"
A blow by blow account of the whole pilot?
Yes. When i was asked for a treatment i added an overview of the series, which included things about it's tone, style, etc. Then after describing the pilot i wrote synopsis for next 5 episodes.
I hope that helps.
By the way, you don't have to do that put all that in but it's pretty good that you do.
Hey socknose, your irritation terrorists sound a bit like 'project mayhem' in Fight Club.
I sent a script to baby cow on the 22nd and got a reply (the expected decline) today. I couldn't believe how fast they'd got back to me. No-one's ever got back to me that quickly before. If I'm getting declined, it's better to be declined straight away than months later.
Earman, sorry to hear about your decline. Arf, yak, whatever.
Agreed, though, that's a quick response.
It seems that Baby Cow is THE place to go to get rejected.
If you put them in seperate attachments what format do you use eg word, celtx or something else.
I always use PDF
