Sitcom Trials Manchester 2011 - scripts invited Page 7

I'm new to this, so know nothing about it. Are they looking for a 15-minute story, with a proper ending, or is it just a few scenes from a larger script that they want?

The details are in the first post in this thread--they want a script with a first section of 8 minutes that ends on a cliffhanger, and a second section that resolves things in about 2 minutes.

It should be a complete story rather than an extract from a longer work.

On the first page of this thread, it says the deadline for entries June 19th, yet on page 3 it says June 21st.

Can I assume that it's now June 21st?

Which reminds me... I'd better get a move on if I'm to enter this.

ok this I my first even post on any comedy based forum and I am currently writing my first ever script, that is all

I think that's more of a Twitter status post...

:)

But welcome!

Dan

Okay, I'm in and uploaded.

have been clubbed over the head and persuaded to enter.

has vote canvassing started yet?

Just read your script and it's very good, a lot better than mine, in fact...

Unfortunately, my 500 followers on Twitter and Facebook think it's shit so better luck next year...

Yes of course you do, it starts a new sentence

re: Situation comedy about 2 males, 2 females - less than 10 minutes.

How about an extra large man, a pregnant woman, a really old man and a young woman, attempting to negotiate who gets to sit down on public transport?
*pauses*
Perhaps it is more of a series.

Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud I actually like that idea, if it had a barking mad ending. And the old man could be offered the seat at one point and says...''P*ss off,I'm not that f*cking old''.

How about:
Fat Bloke to Old Bloke:
'If you stood up, Granddad, one of these ladies could sit down'
Old Bloke to Fat Bloke:
'If you stood up, Fatso, they could both sit down'
