That's an interesting article.
Maybe I should change the title back to Small Comforts - though I did like Cottaging as a title for the purposes of this competition.

I still like it as a title, despite and maybe even because of the different meanings, it gives it a little bit of edge somehow

Well I thought Marc P had a different meaning to the 'toilet' one, like people staying in cottages or spending time in a cottage type hospital...? I'll get me dictionary

Made a start on this late last night but given its length (ooh Mrs!) hadn't the mental capacity to give it enough attention, will go back and read it over the next day or so.
On the title question. I can see why you might do it to get it noticed, but I feel that Small Comforts is much more suited to what little I did read.
I think that Cottaging is as likely to put off as many as it's likely to attract and those attracted by the Cottaging title might feel short-changed by the content.
And are there really any cottage hospitals around today?
I loved this sitcom whether there are cottage hospitals or not. It's really well written and funny. I wager it came in at no 33
I'd call it Cottage Pie, because in a sense the characters are the 'ingredients' in a sitcom pie.

Hurrah, gets my vote.

Great title
I'd prefer Shepherd's pie. Can't you introduce some sheep into it Marc?
Red Sky at Morning Shepherds Warning
Redd Sky at night Shepherd's Pie!
Actually there is a sheep referenced at the beginning of Ep 1 - what with it being set in North Norfolk, there's plenty about.
I'm surprised (and disappointed) by the lack of pun in the title.
Radio 4 might change a character name and give you (Claire-in-the Community-style):
Comforts and Joyce
Puns on Cottage to consider ...
Cottage Oafs
A Mess of Cottage
Well there's a bit of a pun in the title, as it's not really about men having sex in public lavatories until the second series.
I'll have a think... maybe COTTAGE CHEESE
?
