The 'ham' in hamburger has nothing to do with cooked pigmeat, as I tried to explain...oh, and another thing that makes me squirm: On ITV News at 6.30 last night the autocue readers said 'The Emperor of Japan in a dress to the nation...' When she was clearly meant to say '...in an address to the nation...' Count in a day how many times people leave out the indefinite article. And what's a 'lectrician'?
