British Comedy Guide

Lord Tramp

Just looked up Joan Sims on eBay and this came up. What is it exactly? When did it run etc? Any good?

The basic premise is that Hugh Lloyd the titular tramp inherits loads of cash, a stately home and a title and then hilarity ensues. And Joan Sims pops up. Plus Alfie Bass and the late George Moon who made a few appearances in the Carry Ons and is the father of Georgina Moon, who also appeared in some Carry Ons and made it to one of my obscure cult comedy convention things last year.

Was it any good? Worth getting?

I've just published our guide to the show for you David - no idea how I'd missed doing so already. Still missing pictures though...

Anyway, I thought it was quite enjoyable. It's not a masterstroke, but it is a children's sitcom, so you shouldn't expect it to be: but it does that job perfectly well IMO.

I might get it just for Joan Sims. Could be a laugh, if not I can always eBay it for 99p. :)

On the topic of reviews/guides, I'm still in hope of one for Next Of Kin. Whistling nnocently :D
