Writing to deadline

Has anyone had to write to a deadline? How do you find it? Difficult, easy, headache inducing? I've had to write to a deadline this week, a comedian needed a couple of jokes, and I started off well by writing about 4 immediatly then i stalled. I'm trying to get about 6 more by tommorrow but i'm struggling. Anyway has anyone else had this problem?

Yup writing to a deadline is a pain in the arse but make you more disiplined as a writer. I always strart well then sorta do something else and rember shit the deadline is tomorrow lol gotten a lot better lately I set myself to do lists and work to them. :D

I'm rubbish at deadlines. I've been writing sitcoms for a year and never managed to complete an episode, without moving onto something else or just getting bored.

I've got just under a month to come up with an article(s) for a magazine. It'll be the hardest I've ever worked :P.

I've just sat down and whacked out another 8 jokes which is good because I thought 10 would be adequate and I managed 12. I actually find deadlines useful because if you can handle the pressure then you produce. Problem is lots of things can put you off, like being a memember of a British Sitcom website. Too many threads so litte time.

I love working to deadlines, it forces me to get into the writing mood. I would kill to have to work to deadlines and get paid for it. Well, maybe slightly maul or even subcontract the killing part.

I agree that deadlines help - otherwise you just amble along.

Trouble is if you're trying to do too many different things and forget what deadline is for what - and you have to keep looking on this bloody web site.
