BBC Radio 7

I like Radio 7.
However, I feel that most of the recent comedy shows are more miss than hit.
I enjoy The Goon Show, ISIRTA, Hancock, Radio Active and The Charles Chilton radio serials (but not presenter Nick Briggs).I also enjoy ISIHAC and The News Quiz, but I count them as Radio 4.
But some Radio 4 shows repeated on Radio 7 should never have been made. Cabin Fever springs to mind, as does the one in the submarine. (A very poor mans Navy Lark). That thing with David Tennant (something about being married with no children) wasn't funny.

Anyone agree, disagree?

Comedy shows have always been hit and miss during any era. For every classic Goon Show and Hancock, there are doubtless hundreds of shows that are total bum, from that period.

I think what you mean is "you don't like modern comedy" which you have made clear elsewhere.

I like some modern radio sitcoms, and I don't like others. Recent radio sitcoms I've enjoyed a lot include Ed Reardon's Week, Count Arthur Strong, Bleak Expectations, Think The Unthinkable and Giles Wembley-Hogg Goes Off.

(I also really enjoy the vintage comedy on BBC7 and really hope this doesn't get cut when it becomes Radio 4 Extra).

Is that whats its going to be called? Radio 4 Extra?

Think its a big mistake to scrap the kids shows. Children need to listen to radio.

I have been enjoying the re-runs of Fists of Fun on Radio 7.

The kids shows on Sunday morning piss me off, as I look to Radio 7 when I'm hungover in bed to entertain me while Radio 4 goes all God squad.

Still, they should be looking at the kids market really.
