Gary Moore
Sad news. He was pretty young too.
My favourite guitar player of them all. I was out driving and nearly crashed the car when I heard this on the news at 6. I just couldn't believe it.
I saw him both on his own and with Skid Row back in the day, and the time I spent as a lad working out his solos has come rushing back to me this evening in a wave of joy mixed with a dreadful sadness.
Here's what he was all about. Tone, taste, technique and feeling by the bucketful.
I almost feel like a relative has gone.
Sad sad news. RIP Gary
A sad loss...
Here's the video for Empty Rooms plus some stonking guitar work on a rare mix of Warriors by Frankie goes to Hollywood

RIP Gary; I'll always remember the night you signed my Fender.
Sad to hear this news, a great musician, Parisian Walkways being just one of my favourites. RIP
Aye very sad. One of the great guitarists we all tried to emulate.
And 58, that's nowt
I remember one of his live performances, he ended almost every song by shouting out the title. I hope at the funeral his eulogy ends in the same way "Victims of the future!" ba-da dum etc.
Sad to hear of Gary Moore's death, a great master of his craft as a solo performer and band member.
One of my favourites was Blues for Greeny his loving tribute to the greatest British guitarist of his era, Peter Green. Green came out of retirement very soon, having realised he was a far from forgotten figure.
Yes - terrible shame.
Everyone should own at least "Still got the blues" - an incredible album.
