Text writing. Page 2

:P

BTW (By The Way, Charley) not really bothered as long as *most* of the words in the sentence are in full.

Also, and I'll admit it's a personal niggle, can we not use the number 8 (as in <shiver>m8 and gr8, cos that is the sign of idiots.

Dan

Ok I'm young, I'll try and clear them all up.

LOL - Laugh out Loud but in some cases is known as Lots of Love
PMSL - pissing myself laughing (I find's rarely used)
TBH - is to be honest
BTW - By The Way
FMTF - F**k me thats funny (again rarely used)
OMG - Oh My God and OMFG - Oh My F**king God
BRB - be right back
LMAO - Laugh My F**king Ass Off
IMO - In My Opinion
JCTSWRFIHICWOLT - jesus christ that sketch was really funny I hope I could write one like that.

Simple like break down for you.

I say LOL "in real life" sometimes, when something is funny, but not enough to actually laugh.

Ok cool, so are we saying that i can say things like, TBH i am having
a conversation with OMG he is gorgeous BRB off to to a bit of HP.

But we cant have

I had a gr8 time last nite it was cwl. Hope 2 c u very soon wld u like a p.nut.

Is that right if so, I apologise it is not text writing it is abrev.writing and i will go bury my head in the sand now. BRB

TBH, I rarely use abbreviations.

You actually say "Lol"?

Ha.

Yeah but in a kind of ironic way and I'm aware I'm doing it.

You big loloser.

Actually, since mocking you, I've realised I do sometimes think 'lol' in my head by accident, and just manage to stop myself saying it.

The internet has ruined my life and taken away my self respect.

Lol.

I do the same as leevil sometimes and zooo so Im the worst of you all.

It saves the effort of having to laugh I suppose.

Yer i find lol (even though it stands for lots of laughs) is more appropriate for something that doesn't require an actual laugh out loud (lol). I don't know...that might just be me.

And i have actually "said" lol out loud and got laughed at out loud loudly by lots of laughing people! :(

Lol.

I say "lol" (and it's "laugh out loud", damnit) all the time.

In response to the questions, things like BRB, LOL, HTH, ROFL, PSML and IMO (caps or otherwise), are old-school Internet acronyms, and thus are all fine.

'Txt spk', however, is and will remain strictly banned in the rules. I'm going to start being stricter in enforcing this, which will involve account suspension if people persist in offending. This includes, but is certainly not limited to; gr8, m8, h8, l8, ne1, ru, ur, u, r, and so on and so forth.
