I remember doing a canvas painting once and getting it almost perfect and then adding a little bit of shadow and f**king ruined it and I reached down to CTRL + Z . Life is no where near as useful as computers.

Agreed. I've also tried to do Ctrl + Z in the past and then realised I wasn't on the computer.

(Most modern books are available as PDF files now, if you know where to look, so not such a pain, but y'know, yeah, innit.)
But there's something not right about reading a book in PDF. I think it's cos I need to be snuggled up when reading, and sitting in front of my computer isn't snuggley.
