Sometimes I say things and don't think about it, and they're apparently a bit mean; and sometimes I get angry but I'm never mean when I'm angry-just shouty! Either way I regret it after.

I think it's school. I'm not naturally mean, but school draws out the cynical, bitchy side of me and I take that out on people.
Unfortunately it doesn't help, because the personality I have here is probably totally different to how I am in real life. I take time to choose my words here, that isn't possible in the same way in conversations.
