And this is why we all reeled back yesterday when in a gallery and one of our friends ex-friends said "Well it's popular youth culture, isn't it." We all walked out shaking our heads.

Do not tolerate Emo-Acceptance :P

What was he/she referring to? Darn youths.

He was referring to a really dark grafitti print. Same guy whose girlfriend I almost insulted. Whistling nnocently

My brother's a little bit emo. What makes me laugh so much is when he says "Ah those damn chavs, we'll kill 'em if they look at us funny again." He's just as bad with labels, even though he says he hates them.

That's what throws me into a quandary, in my rejection of the labels used in society do I myself apply a label? Do i join the group of people who proclaim that they hate labels?

It's times like that that I realise: I need to get out more.

Haha! But then you just see all these people who embody the labels, and end up in a further predicament!

It's too difficult being a teenager :(

Just stick your fingers in your ears and say "lalala!"

You really are overthinking this, you know. Can't you two be like normal teenagers, you know, like the ones in Skins?

Not possible. Plus-Skins teenagers are classed as normal!?

Does that mean I have to take drugs, drink and have lots of casual meaningless sex?

Apparently we both have to. Now *that* could class as the rebellion my parents are expecting.

My parents would just be confused as to how I suddenly became cool...

Hmm same with mine actually...

Laughing out loud

In unison: "F**k your ridiculous and arbitrary standards of cool - I enjoy my own personality and will contine to do so forever and ever!"

What do people have against labels anyway? Surely they're just collective terms?

It's the people who subscribe to them. Anyone who says "I am a goth," or "I am an emo," is renouncing their individuality. It absolves you of your responsibility to think for yourself and to hold yourself accountable for your actions. Also it's the pretentious nature of such people, "I'm an emo, you're not, you're soooo mainstream."

But my hatred is perhaps misplaced, it's a bit ridiculous to hate a group as such - but they are annoying.
