It's my Mum's birthday on Monday. First one since she died. It hits home that she isn't here. I got her some flowers, a card and candle. Feels so alien and I keep seeing Mothers day gifts everywhere so that doesn't help!

Violet has a very powdery sugary taste. It's not over powering but it tastes like it smells. It goes extremely well with chocolate.
You can eat the flowers alone or have then candied or chocolate coated. You can buy violet water and make cremes, cakes, and sweets. Personally my fave form is the little french boiled sweets. 
You can easily find out by popping to the shop and just getting some parma violets for about 10p
