Yes, that's happened to me a couple of times from looking for lyrics.
I struggled to find a site that let me select and copy the lyrics either. Sheesh!

Modern viruses & trojans are not really produced by anti-social little bastards, those days are long gone.
Modern ones are deliberately created by criminals with intent to get money out of you.
If it knackered your computer it probably went wrong, because in general they are designed to be invisible & to spy on your activities.

Angie, the Gordon Lightfoot lyrics Website was probably poorly constructed and wide open to being invaded by cyber criminals who inserted an exploit into the website and the website owners have not noticed it yet.
