What do raccoons do that's so bad?

Possums don't bother me (they do eat the vegetables in my garden) but raccoons are nasty, aggressive rabies carriers and garage can marauders. Good riddance.

Ah. We don't have them wild here, so I don't know what they're like.

I don't know.

I'm in the AA.

Sometimes you'll go outside to throw out some trash and you'll notice that the garbage can is shaking violently. You look inside and there's a crazed raccoon trying furiously to escape. They're fairly large, have claws and sharp teeth and are known to carry rabies, so it's safer to shoot the critter than free him.

Not for the critter.

Eh?

Stay out of my trash and I won't shoot you.

You could say the same thing about our foxes I suppose, though I doubt that you would ever get bitten by a fox if you let it be.

There have been cases where they have attacked human babies left out in their prams to get some sun an not monitored closely.

One nice thing about the small amount of snow that I have here now is that I can see if the foxes visited my garden overnight. On the last snow I found out that they actually come in from the main road, drink from the fish pond, wander around the garden for a while and then leave by the same route. They only come in the dead of night and I do hear them barking/yapping some nights.

You should hear what a pack of coyotes sounds like when it rips a small dog or cat to pieces. Teary

Foxes are scum I may get a pond just to drown them, except I suspect a shotgun would be more satisfying

Average_Batman posted a link to this site earlier, on Twitter.

He has over 12,000 followers, so good publicity for the BCG.

Awww really. I love Average Batman.
