Dolly Dagger, Little Wing; are you a huge Hendrix fan?

Does it show? Huh?

:D

Does it show?

Yes, but that's because of your miniskirt.

It is still 1968 isn't it?

A friend who I have met just the once but have been speaking to for many years online has just told me that his 12 year old boy has been knocked down and killed in a road accident.

Hard to see how that story could be more tragic :(

I never knew him but this has affected me quite badly. Maybe it's because I have children or maybe it's because I have been complaining about things that don't really matter. Why does life have to kick us this way?

Oh gosh. That's so horrible. :(

That's so sad. :(

Defaults to the US but UK works too.

A vicar has been moaning about secular pop songs being used at funerals.

The last funeral I went to had Johnny Cash's Ring OF Fire playing as the coffin went through the curtains at the crematorium.

Perhaps he'd be happy if a few of todays hip bands recorded some nice hymns. Then he can get on down with Artic Monkeys, Young Knives and Tinchy Stryder with impunity.

I wonder where this vicar stands on the song 'Lord of The Dance (settee)' ?

I cannot put my mind into that of a nice vicar.

That's fair enough though. People have a right to thier beliefs, but they are also choosing to get married/have funerals etc in Christian buildings so what do htey expect? I don't think the vicars see it all as 'just a custom'.

The problem is it's very difficult to have a secular funeral.
