My friend in Los Angeles just sent me this photo taken from his patio. There's a huge fire in La Canada and it sort of looks like a volcano.
Here's a couple minutes of radio chatter that my friend recorded with an iPhone and a police scanner. The people talking are pilots who are flying tanker aircraft and helicopters loaded with water and fire retardant that they're dumping on the blaze.
