Didn't the Welsh Saint stab the dragon in the chest with a sword from the lake, then grabbed him and flew him to close to the sun and the dragons wings burnt off. Was something along those lines.
David was a peaceful saint. One of his most famous feats was when he was givng a sermon and members of the crowd said they could not see or hear him then by some miracle, a platform appeared from nowhere and raised David above the crowd then a dove flew and landed on his hand symbolising his approvement from God yadda yadda. The red dragon flag unlike most british flags actually has nothing to do with the saint as it's not the original flag which is actually St Davids cross (a black flag with a gold cross symbolising his death after living for 100 years).
I remember some stuff from Sunday school.
