a million people a month also think our conversation is interesting.

And your sponsorship isn't paying you? You really get a million people a month listening to you and you have sponsorship but you earn nothing??? I would have a word with your American friend and her lawyer and have a word about this.

how do you suggest I take my comedy thing and develop further?

Have you considered having a sex change?

:O :D

Like thousands of comics I've gigged around the UK making audiences laugh. I had sell out shows in Edinburgh. I've performed in America with some of the best and got audiences laughing. I've even had sell out London shows (yes - I've booked venues/advertising). I improvise, write and perform.

Then I began sitting with my buddy and she recorded our conversations. I've always been able to make people laugh - guarantee!! - during conversations.. so my American friend and I laughed. She then posted it on her blog. First I was approached by Mevio who got us to sign a contract for hosting our 'conversations', then we hit Number 1 in iTunes... I've had fanmail from around the world and now we have sponsors and 1 million downloads per month...

If all this is true, then the reasons why you might feel the need to come to the BCG for advice on your future career... well, I can't see why you would need to? That's not saying that there aren't some experienced and intelligent people on here who can offer really good advice (there are), but if you've achieved quite a lot already, then I would have thought you have both the personal resources and the contacts to quite easily thrust yourself into a new direction.

I've spent about 3 and a half years slowly plugging away with the writing and building contacts, securing an agent etc... I've a long way to go and I've made some mistakes, but I started out with a comedy c.v. which was (unlike yours is at present) essentially a blank page. You've got a head start on many, it seems, but in terms of being a writer, you've still got to do the hard work. Write something, then use the contacts you must have in order to get it read. I suppose the only other advice I have is not to assume because you've been a success in some areas of comedy you will automatically be hailed as genius when it comes to scriptwriting. Even breakthrough comedy writing "geniuses" will mostly have a few early rejected pilot scripts lurking in a dark drawer somewhere.

Anyway, all the best. :)

I was just about to say that.

and I've made some mistakes

We can vouch for that!

We can vouch for that!

In professional terms, I actually don't consider that a mistake...

Ok, now I want to know what the real mistakes were!

Well you've boosted my confidence.

I do get money for the podcast, but 2 women can't live on that income - unless we lived in Bulgaria and didn't want new gadgets, and were happy to live with each other. Plus it's not all about the money - that's just a happy sideline of success.

I'm looking for a Simon Cowell?? Um - I wouldn't say no to Simon if he believed in me, wanted to nurture my talent and launch me on an international tour, crafting and honing the skill I have. Would you?

I have noticed on this forum that a couple of people comment by saying 'We'. For example "We suggest, We Think". Is there a democratic elected 'voice' of this forum? Or a dictatorship perhaps? Or simply, do some people fear the 'I' wouldn't hold enough... Weight with me? Do their own thoughts need a 'We' to convince themselves?

Yes Hat Trick and BBC asked me for writing... and no - I am not a seasoned writer..(I'm a techy by training and work)... and yes - I fluffed it! :0)

Simon Cowell or the comedy equivalent - WHERE ARE YOU?

I imagine it will be that one. :D

An individuals opinion is valuable to me. Opinions by committee often lack meat and genius:0)

I just had a quick squizz through, can't see any 'we's' offering advice to you here. Or were you just talking about the forums generally?

"Us"? Whatever:0)

"Us"? Whatever:0)

Oh that's just Griff. ;)

But in the context of his reply there he couldn't use the first person really. Otherwise he would be saying why are you coming to me for advice? - if you see what I mean. :)

...or to not consider my comments a whinge to the world - simply an observation that can be ignored if annoying?

Whistling nnocently

I'm looking at this website. It's good. In 2011 I'm going get out and meet some groups/people. This ole comedy life is a team sport:0) Now I need a team:0)
