A Christmas story from the files of Police Squad
Wouldn't it be better to just rename the characters and say it's inspired by the Police Squad style of comedy? That way there's more of a chance of selling it. And I like the idea of Christmastown, is that your own?
I don't think so, as you really have to picture Drebin's deadpan face as he says things like "Bit of a peeping tom, eh?" or "Evidence? What is it?" I don't think it would work outside of the Police Squad model. But thanks anyway.
As for Christmastown, I guess I sort of thought of things like the French Quarter, the Bronx and Queens and added in a bit of "Nightmare before Christmas", and came up with the name. Wouldn't say it's totally original, but I don't think I ripped it off from anywhere.
