He's done a decent amount of good solo stuff imo. Yeah, it's not as edgy as Lennon's but it's good pop.

And he's allowed to do The Beatles tracks seeing he (and Lennon) wrote most of them.

I think he is too old to go out Kurt Cobain style. Maybe a fall or a really bad cold would do the job best at his age.

McCartney only performs the Beatles songs he wrote, doesn't he? He wrote many of the group's best songs on his own, as did Lennon, but they agreed to leave both of their names in the credits.
