The best of the Kinks!

Excellent taste, I've been slowly aquiring their back catalogue and 'Village Green Preservation Society' is a work of genius.

Now I'm listening to Rocky Horror cos it's stuck in my head...Im so pathetic...and now under the illusion that Im a bit funny cos of my heckling :P

My Old School by Steely Dan

I don't see how anyone can not like them.

Brontosaurus by The Move

I love the Move.

Roy Wood is TRULY a musical genius.

He started The Move, Electric Light Orchestra and Wizzard not to mention...

And he made truly SOLO records where he played every instrument including Cellos and bagpipes.

Don't you wish it could be Christmas every day?

And now Hocus Pocus by Focus. Oh that yodelling.

Don't you wish it could be Christmas every day?

That is by far THE best Christmas song.

My Computer Humming. Sounds like a cool band but my computer is telling me to do things. It's promising to give me cake aswell.

A 60's/70's garage compilation which was free with Mojo about a year or so ago. Brilliant.

Jonathan Richman, New York Dolls, Electric Prunes, MC5 - it just goes on from one brilliant record to another.

Didn't realise you liked garage music Dave? Re-e-wind!

Can anybody explain the difference to me between House and Garage..

:)

You park your car in one, not the other! That is the extent of my knowledge! :D

He he!!

Me too... being a muso myself I don't like musical labels and have never yet had a satisfactory answer to this... well not one my brain can decipher anyway... :)

House is dance music. This garage is garage punk. The Nazz, The Count Five, Amboy Dukes - NOT what you were thinking.

Anyway I've moved on to Dory Previn now. A very strange singer songwriter from the 70's who used to be married to Andre Previn. Songs like "The Midgets Lament", "Left Hand Lost", "Beware of Young Girls" about Mia Farrow who stole her husband and "The new enzyme detergent demise of Ali McGraw." Great fun stuff.

Is that an invitation Ellie?

Dave - is all 'garage' ... 'punk' ?

Or are there different types of garages? ;)

Do you ever listen to anything that isn't '70's?

The 1950's had some good early 'punk' e.g. Eddie Cochran using shoeboxes as drums..
