Quote: Winterlight @ July 20 2008, 8:11 PM BSTYes. Just like Geri Halliwell was a UN spokesperson.
... you mean they're pretending to have started their own label?
Somebody tell Dougie! I don't think he knows.
Quote: PhQnix @ July 20 2008, 7:58 PM BSTThey have to have got together for the purpose of making music, not making money. There are probably a bunch of bands who I like who barely knew each other when they were formed but they aim to make music not money.
Yes, that's what they say to appease judgemental music Nazi bastards.
Quote: Aaron @ July 20 2008, 8:12 PM BSTI don't like you're spelling/grammar either.
I already knew that. It all goes to pot when I have to start typing responses quickly.

I was surprised too! I thought they were well radio 1.
Don't you have to be black to be on Radio 1?
Tim Westwood thinks so.

You just have to show a reasonable level of musical ineptitude and have a clear short shelf life. Eee, it's good to let the snob in us out from time to time! I don't actually ever listen to music on the radio, so I've no idea what gets on Radio 1 these days. In my imagination it's pretty horrific.

The guy's an idiot.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ July 20 2008, 8:05 PM BSTWhy on earth would you want to give away your new album with a newspaper anyway? Seems a bit odd to me. Yes, its publicity and perhaps gets you out there to a lot of people who wouldn't normally buy your stuff, but I'd feel pretty ashamed to be giving it away with a paper.
If you make music because you love it, I doubt you care who hears it and (within reason) how they get to hear it. Only the snobby music Nazi fans get pissy.
I listen to radio 2!
I am jolly old.
I stopped listening to radio 1 around the time that Mark and Lard and John Peel left/died/got sacked.
And when I realised that all the cool kids were on radio 2 anyway.
(and a hell of a lot of freaky old weirdos, but never mind them.)
Are you listening to Malcolm Laycock yet Zooo? His shows are brilliant!
*looks at Frankie blankly*

Me too. Everyday at work. Love 'The Big Quiz'. Annoyed with Steve Wrights stand-ins though. Can't stand either of them.

Eh? Name 5 black British singers/groups who get regular play on Radio 1.
