Yeah, I saw that doc too. Ringo was much more influential in the world of drumming than many people realise.
Maybe it originates from that old interview where the band were asked something like "is Ringo the best drummer in the world?" and Lennon quipped "he's not even the best drummer in The Beatles!" and then it became a running 'joke'.
I think you can blame Jasper Carrot for that remark.
Paul was the best musician but the others weren't bad,were they?
