What are you listening to now? Page 1,471

That's awful.I can see why it's a hit.

Not being critical or nothing but I do feel that since my summer break the overall quality has gone down a tad.

Where were these for example?

Oliver Tree - Let Me Down:

Harry Roy & His Orchestra - My Girl's Pussy:

Dan Bern - Tiger Woods:

Dan Deacon - The Crystal Cat:

I'll take it back down then. You only had to ask.

The Best of Blue Note. Art Blakey, Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker etc etc

George Harrison, All Things Must Pass, Awaiting On You All - I mean the forthcumming box set. But it's getting f**king redickless - the last year alone has seen mega-takes on Flaming Pie, Gimme Some Truth AND Plastic Ono Band, and now this, with Get Back to follow. Good news for their acc**tants, not so good news for fans. But apparently, there's this thing called YouTube...? Might check it out. Looking forward to the 64249-quid Ringo's Sentimental Journey box shit. Played it once and decided that was seven times too many.
Apparently, Get Back shows a more positive side to the band as they have fun, while Let It Be showed them at - well, loggerheads.

Who booked that?

Baker Gurvitz Army - "Smiling" and "Dancing the Night Away" songs:

His album "Hearts on Fire" I consider the best from all his solo discography https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rip84gh6T6s&list=PL8a8cutYP7fqqHz6VIWoi-AQB8vUo8hGL&index=1

Thanks 69.I'd forgotten them.I bought the first album in the 70's with Mad Jack

Was that around the time of the first Punk Rock Festival?

Wish I'd seen them although I got to see Wilko a couple of years ago and have tickets to see him again next year with Otway in support.

I know the Feelgoods played the 2nd "European Punk Festival' at Mont de Marsan - but hey are not listed as playing the 1st in '76/
It's all very odd - the YouTube clip says 1976 - but they weren't in Europe then (though they were in Paris in June -76
They were in France August 1975 - played Orange Festival a couple of days later - though this may have been shot before that - they were on their way from Finland, maybe?
Maybe they played few unlisted gigs - because this one was essentially a car park - you can Google Streetview it now.
Annoyingly, they obviously did more than one song - but his is the only clip around.
EDIT: I've just found an article in French - I might spend a few hours trying to translate it.
EDIT EDIT: The film was shot in June 1975 - so yes in with tanother Paris concert (Pithiviers is about an hour south of Paris). It was a week long music/arts festival - very French.
The locals were completely bemused.

I see John Martin (the big figure) makes some comments under the video.
I think both he and John B Sparks left at the same time.

Going through a George Harrison phase. Can't believe how he blossomed from shy, geeky sidekick in 1962 to 'Living In The Material World'. Awesome.
I know this argument is older than an Italian politician but George was probably the best solo Beatle, at least up to the mid-70s, cos he had a stash of songs left over from the end of That Other Ensemble, and he was the only one who was still progressing. It's amazing that in 1974, John was selling the least of them all. All Things Must Pass regularly tops those Best Of Solo Albums, ahead of Imagine, Band on the Run and even Ringo's I Wanna Be Santa Claus.

They both left in l 1982.
I knew Pat McMullen, the bassist who took over.
He used to play for The (Count) Bishops, who I also knew well.
Which was also where the Feelgood's then current guitarist, Johnny Guitar, had come from.
Pat couldn't drive so I was his personal roadie for a while - plenty of backstage admin and after show larks!
Once Johhny and Pat left, there was only Lee Brilleux and, to my mind, things went off.
Didn't even buy the next few albums they put out, before Lee popped his clogs.
I think the current line is is an anathema - but apparently it had Lee's blessing - perhaps it was to keep the pennies coming in for his family.
