Heard this today and the hopeful yearning vibe made me go to the trouble of finding out who it is. As John Peel might say it's Editors and this is Magazine.
I've not been exposed to something so pleasing since Bombay Bicycle Club shared Luna with the universe.

Bit different from Mack the Knife.
I like his stuff too. This vid with Courtney Barnett is fun. Based on this, I could see Kurt playing a comedy role in a Jim Jarmusch or Alex Cox movie.
Here's some Japanese garage/punk. @ Lofty

Awesome.
I just put on Tattoo by Rory Gallagher and I'd forgotten how good it was.
I'd practically persuaded myself that it was only his live albums (I've got the Live CD box set too) were worth listening to but I'm now planning to buy Blueprint again because for some stupid reason I sold it when I was a bit hard up.
I'm sure the studio albums were practically recorded "live".

Tattoo and Blueprint are great. So is Calling Card!
I got into Rory when I heard Deuce in a second hand shop when I was about 15. I bought it straight away.

A day off listening to music.
Firstly Steve Ellis/Small Faces songs. Afterglow

Then theaudience featuring a very young Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

And now a Reggae Compilation which I bought the other day called the Liquidator. It Mek - Desmond Dekker. Apart from a couple of Bob Marley albums I'd never owned a reggae album.
Heard this for the first time just now. Never heard of them before (from 1993). Like a more spiky, raucous Blondie. Somebody impress me, and tell me they already knew about them.
