Or just Them.

According to NME (so it must be true), Blur were the 90s Beatles. Do compare and contrast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdbTOaRh79U and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2NorSMvNzA
Glorious weather like this always makes me want to listen to upbeat 80s music. An era when summers meant school holidays, the smell of freshly cut grass and hot weather that actually lasted all summer not just for a few days.

I think it's hilarious Prefab Sprout took the piss out of Bruce Springsteen. It's like Justin Bieber having a go at Jimi Hendrix.

Oh f**k off! There was only one Beatles (OK made up of three and a half of them!)
However I am currently agreeing with Ray Connolly in a newspaper article who argues that Sergeant Pepper was NOT their greatest album.

Definitely. It's because they had a singer with an Irish name that everyone thought that they were "cool".

Who can remember this 80s soaked gem. I had forgotten all about it until yesterday when it suddenly popped in to my head.

I love Mari and pledged for her most recent album. I'd planned to see her locally too but it coincided with another gig I had tickets for.

A shame but hopefully you get the oportunity to tell her that á la Alan Partridge.

I can't remember where I first heard it but it's up there as one of my top childhood favourites. I have to admit that I find the beehive, bouffant and anything motown themed pretty darn sexy. I like how the backing singers are larking around as well because it shows how they didn't take it seriously. Not like the people making comments on youtube who seem to have no idea how TOTP worked.
The Neasden Queen of Soul. What a gig that would've been. Her supporting Roxy.*
One of her original backing singers was Michelle Collins AKA Cindy from Eastender, along with Julia Fordham.
* I so wish Roxy would reform with all of their ex-members!.
