Tiger - Shining in the Wood
This sounds SO John Peel, I almost feel he's in the room when I play it, though surprised it came out as late as 1996.

I know you don't have much time for the Stones, Radish, but you might like this - got some nice guitar playing from Mick Taylor.

I like that. My main issue is with the concept of the Stones. That is more than their music. There was never a strong sense of identification with them. It's possibly partly a class thing (although that doesn't extend significantly beyond British rock and there are exceptions). And specifically that is a perceived flaunting of huge money-making.
I like bits and pieces up to and including Fool to Cry, especially from the 1970s. I still prefer the idea of bands like The Faces, Lindisfarne, Slim Chance (and the Beatles).
Listening to a leaked copy of the new Wilco album, Schmilco. It's not out until a week from today, but apparently the European distributor screwed up and sent out the download links for vinyl preorders a week early. The band had carefully arranged listening parties at record stores on the 6th, so I feel a little bad for them.
Jeff Tweedy has described it as a "f**ked-up country album" and that's reasonably correct. There are a couple of strange songs and everything sounds great on headphones.

Nice. I checked out a few of these in July. This one worked for me.

I tried not to look at the keyboard player too much - he's wearing your shirt.

Quirky pop - like Stiff used to release.

Just seen this on TOTP, haven't heard of them before. I think it's great.

They had a lot of good press at the time (1982), and I bought (and still have) Pelican West which is the one to get.
