Thanks GK. Two fairly established bands - several albums - with whom I am not very familiar. Know that I took to "You Got yr Cherry Bomb" by Spoon a couple of years ago. My impression is that they can do quite a lot of things. The Deerhunter track I know best is "Pensacola" which I picked out on Spotify on the grounds that we used to stay at the improbably named Peniscola in Spain when attending the Benicasim FIB festival. Tenuous I accept but it is a lovely part of the coast. On that first track, I really rate NPR - and ABC Australia - as they at the very least do what BBC radio does especially musically so it is always good to see NPR links.

New Deerhunter track. About to do some UK gigs.

Didn't know Spoon till recently. Played about 40 mins worth last night on Spotify, pretty solid.

Currently checking out their KEXP set. (KEXP are cool too.)

KEXP has some cool videos on YouTube. They posted Wilco's acoustic set a few days ago.

Cheers. I didn't know about KEXP and it looks really good.

The one other US based thing I dip into is Schulkind on Givethedrummersome - WFMU/Independent - as while it is a different kind of music/musics, it is unique just as John Peel was unique and unlike anything in the UK:

Like the pic. :)

Heard something similar on Craig Charles Radio 2 show this morning and as a big fan of 1970s Santana I had to check it out.

Interesting but goes on a bit in the unnecessary places.

Now this, oh how I love the PSBs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gcQFidfA9rU I wanted to marry Neil Tennant when I was younger because I was impressed that he was once the deputy editor of Smash Hits. Tell me, has he ever found a suitable wife, or is he just very choosy?

;)

I've always been a great PSB fan - and I think I've probably got a better chance than you Blue.

As I 've just bought the CD box set of the Faces albums I dug out my cassette version of the Faces Overtures and Beginners as that ISN'T included for some (probably contractual) reason.

Radio 2 - you should try it Mr C, you might learn something.

Evening.

Could have been bigger hits than they were -

(whether you like them or not) -

I think my chances are/were even better than yours. First: I'm younger than you, second: I've actually met him 10 or 12 years ago at a meet & greet event after the gig in Zürich. He gave me his autograph...but he didn't seem to be overly impressed by my appearance. Well, his loss.

No competition.

Love the Beatles. Never loved Elvis.

I will give marks for the early Sun recordings.

Otherwise, not in my top 2000 artists.

Don't like most of the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Radiohead either. Pirate
