Sound of the 70s. Johnny Walker is about to turn 70.
They had Elton on and now they're playing Tiny Dancer? Why? At the time it was just an obscure album track but they seem to play it all the time now. Why can't they play something from Tumbleweed Connection or Honky Chateau?

Nice live version.
Van the Man.
The "Duets" album has been released. His voice sounds great for someone who is 70 in August. Predictably, the album is quite middle of the road. For every Staples and Womack, there is a Buble and Hucknall. But what the heck. It is never less than tasteful. Are any versions better than the originals? Probably not - and "Wild Honey" on "Common One" is streets ahead. But if Joss Stone helps to take that wonderful soul/jazz song into the Top 40 some 35 years on, I'd be delighted.

I like the idea of P.J. Proby singing on the song "Wathever Happened To P.J. Proby?".
Sooner or later I'll buy this album, although the concept seems a bit lazy...oh, and feck off, Buble!

Yes.
Extraordinary that he should return.
Apparently he's 76.

Rory Gallagher's Irish Tour 74. I'd forgotten how good this was. I was lucky to see him at the Rainbow in London and the aisles were literally rocking.
There's a new boxed set version of this comprising I think 6 CDs and a DVD featuring different nights of the tour.
