Best of the Detroit Spinners - one of my fave (sometimes Motown)groups of that style.
Working my way back to you and waiting for one of my fave songs of all time - It's a shame.

Quite an introspective song from his new album. Sounds like a Blur B-side from the late 90s.

They're some frenetic, angular post-punk band from New Yoik.
If I had to really had to nail my colours to the mast re my favourite Stones track . . .
This new band called Movie. They're a bit Britpop with flecks of Bowie:
I don't know what it is, but something about this album has a way of taking me back to my youth like no other.
I came a cross it a year or two after it came out - in about '74 I think ("Mate's older brother's record collection" syndrome).
I don't know whether it was my age at the time or the fact I'd just started playing leccie guitar...
Anyway, it, at least, has aged well, IMHO
At school those "in the know" said Groundhogs were crap so I never chose to listen to them. Probably would've loved them as I'm a big Blues fan.
I love the Groundhogs...the first two albums were bona fide blues records. Very solid but maybe a bit faceless. But from the third album on they changed into someting different. A very stripped down but also distinctive rock sound. "Thank Christ...", "Split" and "Who will save...?" are all great records.
Talk of The Groundhogs allows me to plug this favourite again.
Studio band with Mike Batt on piano and Tony McPhee on guitar.
and next
My favourite of Dylan's 'Christian' albums. Nice and ramshackle.
