A charity shop! Well basically there is not one record shop in Epsom where I have been working since October.

Navigator by the Pogues.

From Rum Sodomy and the Lash. One of my fave albums - and a Stiff record too produced by Elvis Costello.

We have to get used to that developement. We live in times where the cool people download their music from the internet. When I was a boy there were at least twice as many record stores around than there are now...and I'm only 36.

Paolo Nutini - Scream (Funk My Life Up)

Not sure in general about the guy/his voice, but suits this material really well; might have to reconsider.

The Fall - The Light User Syndrome (1996)

DIY Meat:
"The minute I get out of my tent
My garden is covered with cement"
etc

Yep.

The Clash - Bank Robber

Rocio Jurado singing flamenco. One of the greatest ever Spanish singers.

Normally not a big Harrison fan, but had this on my i-pod lately and now it won't leave my head:

Blow Away

The kind of happy go lucky song that makes only sense when you're freshly in love...or just in a good mood because of the weather like I am at the moment.

...and the other Harrison song I like: What Is Life?

(Strangely similar to Spencer Davis' 'Keep On Running')

Interesting point!

Education by Kinks

Education by Kinks

The Babyshambles album (see above) reminds me quite a bit of the Kinks, probably cos of Pete's voice, but also the general *vibe*. Opening track, "Fireman" is v. Pistols/Lydon, but the rest of the album has touches of Dylan too, circa "Maggie's Farm"/"Blonde on Blonde". V. decent effort by Pete. Even the bonus cd has 3 good tracks on it.
